Clapp family wills, estate inventories, receipts, bills, accounts, promissory notes, miscellaneous financial records, deeds and other land-related documents, and correspondence. Deeds and land records relate to Clapp-owned land in New York City, including the Bowery Ward, 1694, Greenwich, Conn., 1723-1769, Westchester County, N.Y., 1705-1807, and Dutchess County, N.Y., 1740-1770. Of note is the will, 1737, of James Clapp of Antigua, West Indies, and promissory notes, 1722-1772, many of which relate to the debts of John Clapp. Other names mentioned in these documents include Cornell, Birdsall, Flamen, Franklin, Gerbrantz, Mean, Quinby, Sharpas, Vail, and Hallock.
